INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY

The objective of the Hemodynamics and the Interventional Cardiology is the treatment of heart diseases percutaneously, that is, in the least invasive way possible. By introducing catheters through the arteries of the arm, the heart is accessed (sometimes by the groin), lesions are diagnosed at the level of the coronary arteries or cardiac chambers to treat them mechanically with different devices such as the intracoronary drug-eluting stent. , valves or other devices for closing and sealing anomalous communications.
Given the improvement in the early diagnosis of ischemic heart disease, the procedures can be done on a scheduled basis. On other occasions when the disease appears suddenly as in the case of Acute Coronary Syndrome, procedures are performed urgently to treat the artery responsible for the clinical picture.
